This addition to an existing cabin duplicated the site as a high promontory ledge overlooking the Gatlinburg valley, much like a projecting stone slab. The structure offers shelter beneath for vehicles and users on arrival. Its form opens up views to LeConte Mountain and to warming sunlight to the south.
its rounded shape on the downhill cantilever allows for 180 degree views. The composition of the remainder of the building spirals up to a tower room in the crown of design into the mountain with minimal additional disturbance.
